Manvel moved its record to 22-11 overall and 7-1 in 24-5A play to remain a game back of league leading Richmond Foster.
The Lady Mavs hold their own one-game edge over Shadow Creek, whom Manvel faces again Tuesday night in Pearland. Manvel won the initial meeting in straight sets at home on Aug. 21.
The Lady Sharks swept Willowridge at home on Friday to also remain on target towards gaining a postseason spot.
Match totals for Manvel in Friday’s win over the Lady Hurricanes featured Cecilia Harness with 21 assists and six aces, Aryn Johnson with eight kills and six digs, Hailey Turner with six kills and five aces, Macy Witt-Nobles with five kills and six digs and Morgan Smith with five kills.
The Lady Mavs also swept Fort Bend Marshall last week behind Harness’ 31 assists and seven aces and 13 kills by Witt- Nobles.
